Kentavious Caldwell-Pope of the Washington Wizards had a wide-open dunk. But, he was rejected in the worst possible way.
The Washington Wizards have not had the greatest of luck recently, as they entered Saturday night losing three of their previous four matchups. After their win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, the Wizards looked to make it two in a row with a win over the Utah Jazz.
How did that pan out? Well, if you wanted one play to sum up the contest, take a look at Kentavious Caldwell-Pope having an open lane to the basket for an easy dunk. Instead of maing it, Caldwell-Pope was rejected by…the side of the backboard.

This play is going to end up on SportsCenter’s “Not Top 10 Plays” and on “Shaqtin’ a Fool.”
It was a night to forget for Caldwell-Pope. Not only did he miss the wide open dunk attempt, but he scored zero points on the entire night, missing all five of his field goal attempts in 25 minutes of playing time.
The Wizards ultimately lost the game 123-98. Jazz star Donovan Mitchell led the way for the team, as he recorded 28 points (10-for-20 from the field), four assists and two steals. Rudy Gobert notched a double-double with 20 points (9-for-10 on field goal attempts) and 11 rebounds.
Bradley Beal scored 21 points (9-for-19), but turned the ball over six times.
