Stephen Curry isn’t the only NBA player who can make history this season as LeBron James is eyeing several records that he could set this season.

The NBA world stood in awe on Tuesday night as they watch Stephen Curry unthinkably break Ray Allen’s record for most career made 3-point attempts, reaching 2,794 in 511 fewer games than it took the previous record-holder to hit 2,793. But the Warriors star isn’t the only player who can make some history. Surprising no one, Lakers superstar LeBron James could also chase down some records or vaunted milestones this season as well.

Now, the Lakers haven’t been enjoying the season many hoped they would when they acquired Russell Westbrook to play alongside James and Anthony Davis this offseason. However, LeBron has shown no signs of slowing down later in his career, averaging 26.3 points, 7.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game.

So what marks could LeBron James chase down this season and join Curry in making history? There are three that stand out as highly doable.

LeBron James: 3 NBA records Lakers star can reach this season

3. Joining 10,000 assist, 10,000 rebound club

Of the records that will be mentioned here, becoming only the seventh player in NBA history to record 10,000 career assists is definitely the most achievable. With 113 already recorded in 16 games this season, assuming he could play roughly 40-45 more games this season and maintaining his current average of 7.1 assists per game, that would give him 284-to-319 more assists. Currently sitting at 2,809 for his career, that would put him over the hump.

That’s not the only 10,000 milestone James could touch this season, though.

The 10,000-rebound club in NBA history is less exclusive than the assists mark, but LeBron would still be only the 41st player ever to achieve it. To this point in the 2021-22 season, he is 151 rebounds shy of that mark. Given that he’s averaging 6.1 rebounds per game right now, if he can stay healthy, he should be able to pretty easily clear the 10,000-rebound hurdle.
